Respect Yourself

"Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you or makes you happy"!

For me this even comes down to the type of conversations that i have. We have so much to deal with in life and i refuse to let unnecessary negative things or people come in and weight me down in any form or fashion. I want to surround myself with positive things and people. We are overloaded everyday with BS! I guess this statement is like "if it makes no money it makes no sense" So if something is taking you away from the person who want to be walk away from it, if it's not feeding you in a positive way walk away from it, if it's not growing you you know what to do! Walk Away! And if it's not making you happy i need not say another word cause you already know just Walk Away!

I have a friend that is in his 70's and he is always and i mean always speaking on things that get him upset to the point that he is cursing. Not a day goes by that he is not speaking on the evils of something that is doing nothing but causing him indirect stress. It doesn't make things better for him, it's damn sure not making him happy and knowing what he does know is not serving him in a good way at this time. I try to get him to understand that there are so many other  positive things to dwell on then things that make you upset or unhappy. If we focus on those good things those happy things how much happier and less stress out we will be. Stop giving fame to the devil and all the negative BS he creates to keep us down and out and unhappy. I feel when we walk away from the things that no longer serve us or grows up or makes us happy we bring a smile to God's face because that is in fact drawing us closer to him & that's him drawing us to the type of life we want to have & the type of life that he wants for us. Remember that!!

Surrender

Sonia Ricotti wrote "Surrender to what is. Let go of what was. Have faith in what will be."

I like this quote because this is what i had to to in my life. I had to surrender to what was in my life. (my husband lost his job, not begin sure where the money was going to come from to meet our needs so forth and so on.) If i didn't surrender to it it would have drove me crazy and created stress for everyone in our home. I  had to let go of what was because i knew that God could and  would make everything right again and in fact he may have something even better in store for us and i had to have the faith that that was true. Was it difficult at times? yes, but i had to keep focus and when i had crazy thoughts i had to make an effort to change the way i was thinking. God promised that he will never leave or forsake me and one thing is for sure God never falls back on his word, as a matter of fact God says that his word will never leave and come back to him void. He already made the promise all we have to do is believe it.

Beliefs

"Your beliefs don't make you a better person your behavior does"!

I like this quote because so many people talk about their beliefs and it all sounds  good but when they don't match up with your actions or behavior then what does that say about your beliefs? What does that say about you?

I remember one time i went to a church and and this lady sat down beside me and i spoke to her just a simple"hi" and she didn't say one word. She acted as if she was too christian and too cute to speak to a little old sinner like me. I was like really... As the time went on the pastor started talking about someone who had been in this terrible accident and he wanted this person to come up and tell how God had brought them through and when i tell you i was so shocked! that the person who had went through all this was the person sitting beside me. I was like God did all this for you and you have so much to be thankful for and yet you act so ugly. I wanted to call her out and interrupt what she was saying cause at this point it was a joke and a turn off. If this is begin a christian then i want no part of it. Again your Beliefs  don't make you a better person your Behavior does!

"Made Up My Mind"

Lord they really think they fooling you by coming to church on Sunday

praying and laying hands on folks stomping and jumping around faking the holy ghost
but its a thin line between walking it and talking it
living it and giving it or just pretending it's alright
and did they really think that they could pull the wool over your eyes lord
did they really think that by faking they were saved that they would get the same reward
this be the realest thing I ever wrote for sure
after this a lot of folks wont like me no mo'
but after this I gotta go answer to you Lord
so I've made up my mind I'm a go to church on Sunday
and sing a song that may hurt somebody's feelings so that maybe
thy will, will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
and hopefully they will see
how much they really be discouraging a little old sinner like me

And Lord who they think they jiving by singing these songs full of glory
then out in the world it's a different story
I'm running out of people to pray for me
I'm not trying to act like I'm the perfect man
but if you speak about it, you should be about it not just preach about it all day
cause if you do you run the risk of chasing some of the most beautiful people away
and it is never my intention to discourage you rather encourage you to change your life today
this be the realest thing I ever had to say, but after this a lot of folks wont like me no mo'
but after this I gotta go answer to you Lord
